Winchester Knock-Off (Counterfeit) |
Winchester Knock-Off (Counterfeit) A medium-quality counterfeit of a popular Winchester model. Compare this to the Maple knife next to it in the picture...they are virtually identical in size, shape, and handle texture. This counterfeit is slightly higher in quality than the Maple, with thumb studs on each side of the blade, a serrated surface on the back of the blade between the thumb stud and the pivot, more uniform texturing on the handle, and a more uniform blade grind. Unlike the Maple, which is an assisted-opening knife, this knife is completely manual in operation. I keep this knife mostly because it is a good work knife with a reasonable (3.25") length blade. Carrying it may push the boundaries, but it is probably technically legal in most jurisdictions. Also, it was cheap enough that I can ruin it on a task and not cry later.
